‘Personal Sin’ has its foundations in the British hard rock band ‘Stampede’ formed in 1981 by Reuben Archer and Laurence Archer.
After a whirlwind ride and a rise-and-rise – the band hit difficulties in the mid eighties – a little after Stampede’s ‘Hurricane Town’ album. At this time Reuben became seriously ill and Stampede reluctantly decided to split.
But in January 2009, Reuben called Colin Bond and Laurence Archer with the aim of bringing back together Stampede. A first gig was staged at London’s Embassy Club in Mayfair in May 2009. After a few concerts, the group took the unanimous decision to begin recording a new album.
In the summer of 2012 after having formed a strong songwriting partnership, Reuben Archer and the hot-shot Stampede virtuoso guitarist Rob Wolverson teamed up to write and record a debut solo album. Reuben Archer’s Personal Sin is the result.
The album features 13 tracks produced by Reuben and Stampede guitarist Rob Wolverson and mastered by Ade Emsley (Iron Maiden, Steve Harris), with guest appearances from Dave Meniketti (Y&T), John ‘Rhino’ Edwards (Status Quo), Neil Murray (Whitesnake, Gary Moore, Snakecharmer), Harry James (Magnum, Thunder, Snakecharmer), Luke Morley (The Union, Thunder), Paul Quinn (Saxon), Paul Raymond (UFO, PRP), Derek Holt (Climax Blues Band), Rocky Newton (Lionheart, MSG), Kevin Riddles (Angel Witch, Tytan), Steve Holbrook (Lautrec) and many more…
